Chinese Commerce Minister Chen Deming made investigation into the development of trade in services and the preparation of the 3rd China Trade in Services Congress in Beijing. Liu Qi, Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, and Guo Jinlong, Mayor of Beijing Municipality, met with Minister Chen and his party. 



Minister Chen said that it is significant to vigorously develop trade in services for the transformation of China’s economic growth pattern and the adjustment of industrial structure. At present, the global trade in services is developing rapidly. Through not highly developed, China’s trade in services is growing up overall, and there is room for greater expansion. During the period of the 12th Five-Year-Plan, to vigorously develop trade in services will be the important task of our commercial work. 



When making inspection in Beijing National Convention Center, Minister Chen Stated that different from the goods trade, service trade depends more on network and intensive fair. The trading platform of service trade should be the integration of exhibition and conference. Beijing has the conditions for the vigorous development of trade in services. And MOFCOM will cooperate with Beijing to do a good job in holding the 3rd China Trade in Services Congress so as to create a service trade platform for enterprises home and abroad and play a guidance role in the transformation of China’s economic growth pattern and the adjustment of industrial structure. 



Cheng Hong, Vice Mayor of Beijing, chaired the symposium on the investigation where she introduced the basic information of the commercial work in Beijing. Head of the Commercial Bureau of Beijing and Head of the Department of Trade in Services of MOFCOM introduced the preparation of the 3rd China Trade in Services Congress respectively. Qiu Hong, Assistant Minister of MOFCOM, accompanied Minister Chen in the investigation and the symposium.
