    Incorporated in 2001, Ningbo Hicon International Industry Co., Ltd. is a Sino-foreign joint venture, a national hi-tech enterprise and a core subsidiary of Hicon Group. Hicon Group, first founded in 1972, combines home appliance manufacturing, real estate development, financing, technology media and import & export. The Group is one of the earliest domestic manufacturers of refrigeration parts, member of China Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association and China Home Electric Appliance Association. The Group has six fully-owned subsidiaries including Hicon International, and at the same time is one of majority owners of Zheshang Innovation Investment Holdings Ltd.
    Presently Hicon International employs close to 2000 people, occupies a land area of about 300,000 square meters and boasts total assets of over 1 billion yuan. Its main products include refrigerator, freezer, air conditioner, water dispenser, ice maker, beverage machinery, wine cooler and other home electrical appliances. Most of them have made it to international supermarkets like WAL-MART, Auchan and Home Depot. Hicon International has been stayed among the top 12 refrigerator exporters in China for several years in a roll and is now listed among the most important exporters of home refrigeration appliance. In addition, it is one of China-based strategic partners of home appliance giants like GE, Electrolux and Haier America.
    Since founding, Hicon International has maintained a good momentum of growth. In 2001, Hicon was honored as a Name Brand of Zhejiang; in 2002, Hicon air conditioner was listed as a national inspection-exempted product; in 2003, it was number one industrial enterprise in terms of export volume; in 2005, Hicon ACU air-conditioning and purifying sterilizer was listed as a hi-tech production of Ningbo and included in the 2005 national torch program; in 2006 the enterprise was credited by the Ministry of Agriculture as “a pioneer in going global”; in 2007, the trade name HICON was honored as a Famous Trade Name of China; in 2008, the company was ratified as a national hi-tech enterprise and Hicon engineering centre accredited as a provincial-level engineering centre of Zhejiang; in 2009, the company’s products (refrigerator, freezer and air conditioner) all won the bid for supplying home appliance to the countryside.
    Hicon International is provided with home air conditioner production lines, ice-maker production lines, refrigerator production lines, freezer production lines, all being latest at home, plus the world’s first class enthalpy test lab. All critical equipment was introduced from USA, Japan or Germany. The enterprise has the right to handle import and export directly and the products sell to more than 50 countries and regions in Europe, America and Asia. The Hicon product series are certified to CCC, ROHS, CB, CE, UL, ETL and GS, some even certified to the Energy Star and NSF of USA. Moreover, the company has obtained certification in ISO9001 international quality system, ISO14001 environment management system and OHSAS18001 professional health and safety management system.    
    As of end 2008, Hicon International had cumulatively obtained 55 patents, including 1 invention, 22 utility models and 32 visual designs. In 2008, the company applied for 5 patents, including 2 inventions and 3 utility models. Apart from its endeavor in intellectual property, Hicon International is also involved in development of the national industry standard “Safety of Electrical Appliance for Home or Similar Use”, which indicates the proprietary know-how of Hicon International is already recognized in the realm of national industry standard.
Since rising to importance on the domestic refrigeration appliance market, Hicon International has endeavored to introduce best talent and advanced manufacturing technology. On the strength of globally recognized quality, a powerful R&D team and country-wide “365 reliable after-sales service system”, the company’s market share has risen all the way. To date, there are 26 provincial-level offices and close to 1000 outlets across the country. The successful bidding for supplying home electric appliance to the countryside is yet another boost to the company’s growth.
